The theme for our school assembly on Tuesday was “failure leads to success.” Every month this year classes will be presenting a theme based on The 8 Keys of Excellence. For this first assembly on the series, Mr. Maloney’s class (Room 16) and Mr. Cummings’ class (Room 18) were responsible for the presentation. Using a variety of media, students demonstrated what appropriate assembly behaviour looks like, student stories and an acrostic poem about how failure leads to success (see picture).  As an example of failure leading to success they shared background information about astronaut Chris Hadfield, and provided a presentation of his children’s book, “The Darkest Dark”.  This book describes Chris’ overcoming his fear of darkness as a child. Special thanks to the student MC’s and Mr. Walker for his technological expertise.
