Dear Abraham Erb Families:

Welcome back! I hope that you all had a wonderful summer with many opportunities to rest, relax and enjoy family life. We want to begin by welcoming everyone – our returning families as well as the new ones who have moved into the community. We would also like to welcome all of our new and returning staff this year.

Thank you for the warm welcome as I join the fabulous ABE ERB team as Principal of the school. Please drop by to say hello. I look forward to working with you to serve the needs of each and every learner.

A sincere thanks goes out to our staff members who have worked hard to create a learning environment to excite and engage our students. They are dedicated to the highest level of education for each child and consistently work in partnership with you so that your child’s needs are met each day. If you have a concern or a question, please do not hesitate to contact your child’s teacher. Thank you to Mrs. Rodrigues, Mrs. Jovanovic and Ms. Kloiber who have worked hard over the summer to get the school ready for the first day – it looks fabulous! Thank you to Mrs. Murphy and Mrs. Blair who have been busy registering and welcoming our new Otter families.

We look for support from you in ensuring that your child’s routines are in place at home.  Regular bedtimes, scheduled evening times for homework review, exercise and healthy eating habits all make a huge difference in your child’s success at school.

We communicate with parents frequently through School-Day; if you do not have a School-Day account, please contact the office for a code to get your account set up as soon as possible.

Our school organizational model is based on projected enrolment in the spring. In September, this model depends on the actual number of students attending school. If the projection does not match the actual number of students in attendance, we may need to re-organize.  Should this come to pass, we will do our best to minimize disruption to students and families. We appreciate your understanding, flexibility and support during this process.

We do value your participation and engagement in school activities. It sends an important message to your child when you take the time to support them in all their school endeavours. Specifically, I would like to encourage you to join the School Council.  The first meeting is scheduled for September 18th at 7:00 p.m.

Meet-the-Teacher Night will be held on Wednesday, September 11th from 6:00 to 7:00 p.m.
