For those students returning – welcome back! To our new families joining us for the first time, welcome to the Abraham Erb neighbourhood!
School begins on Wednesday, September 3 at 9:10am. Our staff will greet students on the back tarmac to begin our new school year. Please see our Abe Erb Line Entry Map 2025 to determine where your student will meet their new teacher.
As we look to the new year, we want to share how thoughtfully and carefully our staff approach the creation of class lists. We consider each students’ academic needs, and social dynamics and always strive to have students placed with at least one friend. These are the guiding principles in forming our combined grade classes as well. Now that class lists are finalized, changes will not be made unless directed by the Board due to unexpected enrollment shifts. Moving even one student can create a domino effect, impacting friendships, classroom balance, and other placements. We recognize that change can be difficult but children are incredibly resilient and adapt quickly. Your support and encouragement help set a positive tone for your child’s transition and success. Please know that our staff are here to help every step of the way. Thank you for your understanding and continued support.
As a reminder, to comply with privacy legislation, class lists will no longer be posted on the outside windows or doors of your child’s school. At your convenience starting today, Tuesday, September 2 and throughout the day, you will be able to determine your child’s homeroom teacher using School-Day. When you log into your account, click “Schools and Groups” on the blue left hand side menu, then click “Your Classes.” This will show the classes and groups your child is linked to within our school. Homeroom names are in the form of K1, 1/2A or 3/4A-FI.
Please note that as of this morning, School-Day is struggling with volume – please be patient!
Once you have determined the homeroom, you can find the name of the homeroom teacher using the following list:
