Following is info for students and parents for the Area Track Meet this Thursday, June 18th at University Stadium.
*Rain or shine (except for thunderstorms). There is no rain date.
1) Students meet in the front lobby at 8:45 a.m. for attendance and to receive your event labels. We leave at 9:00 a.m.
2) Dress appropriately – running shoes, shorts, t-shirt, warm clothes, hat, sunscreen. Abe shirts will be given out at the stadium if you don’t have your own.
3) Be sure to bring water and snacks with you. It is important to stay hydrated, especially if it is hot.
4) If you have 2 events at the same time . . . go to the jumping or throwing event first (quickly!) and let them know you are in a running event. Then, quickly go to your running event. Go back to your field event when your race is over. Field events can wait, running events cannot. High jump is in the gym under the stands.
5) You are to be sitting in the stands in the Abraham Erb area when not competing. If you need to go to the washroom, let one of our teachers know when you leave and when you return. Take a buddy with you.
6) Listen for announcements for your event.
7) Do not cross the track when a race is in progress.
8) Clean up after yourself. Don’t leave any garbage in the stands.
9) Parents are not permitted on the field area. Please watch from the stands. Parking is permitted in the first 3 rows of the Rink in the Park/Granite Club. YOU WILL BE TICKETED or TOWED IF YOU PARK AT THE STADIUM. Dogs are not permitted.
