The City of Waterloo is beginning an exciting construction of a splash pad between the playground at the top of the parking lot at the front of the school and the high school. The construction will begin very soon and will continue all winter with the hopes that the splash pad will be operational for the community to begin using when the warm weather returns!
In the interim, we are going to experience some congestion in the upper parking lot where some of our families drop off and pick up their children at the beginning and end of the day. About half of the parking lot has been fenced off by the construction company for their machinery and for them to be able to access underground water mains.
We highly recommend that families do not use this lot for morning drop off and afternoon pick up as there is very little space to maneuver. It would be wonderful if families could walk their children to school. However, if you require a car drop off, we’d ask that you use one of the side streets around the school to park and walk your child onto the school yard. Please see the linked map provided by the City of Waterloo indicating where you can park legally.
The school parking lot will continue to be used by our staff and is unavailable for parent use during the school day and during drop off and pick up times.
Thank you for your patience and cooperation as we work with the City to assist in a smooth construction process of this exciting community splash pad.
